About Ruach
Pastor Faye Chandler is a native of Newport News Virginia, where she was born and educated in the Newport News public school system. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan New York, and New York University-Tisch School of The Arts, where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Theater.  Minister Chandler has also received a Master of Education degree from Howard University, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC.  For 21 years, she has been the proud wife of Timothy A. Chandler Jr., and is also the proud mother of 16-year old Timothy A. Chandler III, and 10-year old Morgan Faye Chandler.
 
Pastor Chandler spent eight years in New York City pursuing a career in the Theater.  She has performed with the late Yolanda King and Atalah Shabazz in their play Step Into Tomorrow.   Pastor Chandler has been seen on the soap operas As the World Turns and Another World.  She has performed in many theaters including, the Kennedy Center Discovery Theater and Arena Stage in Wash. D.C., the Beef and Boards Dinner Theater in Indiana and the Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts in New York City.  She is the author of three original plays including Down By the River Nile ,  The Protest at St George, and  We Must Go To the Tomb, a passion play performed as a trilogy.
 
Along with Pastor Chandler’s experiences in the theater, is her calling to Ordained Ministry, and the Ministry of the Arts.  Pastor Chandler served as the Director of the Ebenezer AME Church’s Liturgical Dance Ministry for 14 years.  Under her direction this ministry grew from 3 to over 100 members.  Pastor Chandler has also shared her ministry of dance and served as a guest facilitator and speaker at many churches and Arts Conferences throughout the United States and internationally in Bermuda and Cape Town, South Africa.
 
Currently, she is the founder and director of the RUACH Worshipping Arts Ministry whose mission is to use the Worshipping Arts as a tool for Evangelism, and to visualize the “Nations Worshipping Together.” The RUACH community is a collaboration of worshipping artists from various ethnic groups who have been called to bring the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ within and beyond the walls of the church.
 
RUACH has had the blessed opportunity to minister at the United Korean Church’s Ministry Beyond the Walls Conference.  RUACH has also ministered at the concert of Professor Belton and Tye Tribbet, the Daughters of Destiny Annual Prayer Breakfast and the United Methodist Church Worship Conference. RUACH partners with Calvary - Casa del Pueblo to assist with their annual Saving Station Street Ministry efforts each summer.  Other opportunities include using their ministry to help raise funds for Aids Awareness, Hurricane Katrina Survivors, Casa’s Mustard Seed Foundation grant and in support of those fighting the battle against cancer at Washington Hospital Center. 
 
RUACH has participated in and hosted several Worshipping Arts Conferences including Dancing in the Streets Worshipping Arts & Evangelism Conference (2002-2004) and the 2006 Arts and Spirituality Conference hosted by Howard School of Divinity.
